Employees, Family, Friends & Food! Recapping the Annual Jade Global Summer Picnic

On Saturday, August 11, 2018, Jade Global's San Jose and Philadelphia HQ employees raised their lemonade-filled cups to another successful year at the annual summer picnic. The summer picnic is a Jade tradition that brings together employees and their families to enjoy time out of the office and in the sun while playing games and tasting foods from different cultures. Close to 100 employees and family members were present at our San Jose HQ picnic, where we celebrated 15 years in business.

This year’s theme, “Fun in the Sun,” featured traditional picnic games and food, as well as a few new surprises. Children of Jade employees kept busy with entertainment from a balloon artist, who received some very creative requests to design balloon jetpacks, superhero symbols, and hats of all shapes and sizes. In addition to lawn games like Corn Hole, employees and their families showed off their competitive sides during the Three-Legged Race, Orange on a Spoon Race, and Bean Bag Toss. Winners of each game received movie ticket gift certificates, and of course, bragging rights until next year.

The diversity of cultures that represent the Jade family were reflected in the food served at our summer picnics. In San Jose, we enjoyed a lavish lunch spread of Indian Chaat street food, Tandoor chicken, pizza, cotton candy and finger food snacks. At our East Coast Philadelphia HQ, picnic-goers stayed cool with Philly water ice and a taco food truck.

There were a few special events and highlights that were most memorable for our San Jose crowd. We were treated to speeches from long-standing members of the Jade family and from our President & CEO, Karan Yaramada. Karan shared a few inspiring words about the growth of the company over the past 15 years. He acknowledged, “We work hard, and we play hard. I am proud to have such a great team. Jade Global is now one of the very few companies to make the Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing private companies for 8 consecutive years. We couldn’t have done it without our employees’ commitment and dedication. We also appreciate the families of our employees for their support.”

Along with Karan’s speech, we heard from members of the team who have successfully completed 5 years of service with Jade Global. Girish Kulkarni, Yogi Garg, Datta Gadekar, Makarand Pande, Gaurav Dua, and Srinivas Dendukuri were all presented with awards and trophies to mark their milestone at the company. Our award recipients also shared their own words of wisdom about things they have learned throughout their journey working at Jade Global. The award winners weren’t the only ones to go home with souvenirs, though. Each child left the picnic with fun-filled gift bags of toys, candy, and games to keep the excitement going long after the day ended.

The Jade Global summer picnic continues to be a cherished summer tradition. It provides an opportunity for employees to bond with each other and their families in a fun, casual and welcoming environment, without the confines and formalities of an office setting. As the summer winds down, we have our eyes set on the next employee event; the winter holiday party!
