Oracle EPM Cloud is a very flexible and robust tool, but it has always required significant enablement and training sessions to familiarize end users with how to utilize it best. In contrast, the Oracle Redwood, as the new Oracle EPM UI, allows your business users to experience improved end-user performance and simpler functionality with fewer clicks. Here is your technical guide to the Oracle Redwood Revolution.
Post-July 2024, all current EPM production environments are being updated to the newest Redwood release, and most Oracle EPM Cloud environments are on Redwood. Eventually, Oracle will no longer support UI and Application workflow issues of non-Redwood UIs. It’s high time that all Oracle users move to the Redwood UI in EPM.
It is highly recommended that you transition to Oracle Redwood UI as soon as possible. The rollout of Oracle Redwood has already started and will continue in waves of quarterly updates. At Jade Global, as an Oracle EPM Consulting partner, we are helping our customers and preparing for a quick implementation of the new interface.
EPM Readiness: Are You Ready for Oracle Redwood UI?
Check out if your enterprise is ready for Oracle Redwood UI. Prior to this transition, below are some aspects we recommend consider if you are planning to wait on updates:
- Oracle will only provide support for the Redwood Experience theme; support tickets for non-Redwood platforms will not be processed.
- Issues must be replicated in the Redwood theme before submitting a support request.
- Oracle will no longer test or troubleshoot non-Redwood themes.
- For pods already on Redwood, non-Redwood themes will not be selectable on the appearance card.
- For pods on non-Redwood themes, you can switch to Redwood, but reverting back will not be an option.
Beyond a UI update, What Does Oracle Redwood Bring to You?
Currently, EPM Redwood UI is restricted to use only one of the following predefined themes:
*You can customize all of these with your business logo
However, The EPM Redwood changes are not as simple as just a new interface: There are several key benefits to be aware of.
Below is what you can expect to take advantage of:
Dynamic Tabs:
Similar to Excel, Dynamic Tabs at the bottom of the page will make it easier to navigate your data. You can view multiple artifacts simultaneously, open up to 30 tabs per page, and update and review changes without leaving the original form.
IPM Insights:
It automatically compiles information based on your past and future data, assists in finding patterns, trends, variations, and anomalies, and helps you gain a competitive advantage with in-depth analytics.
Ask Oracle:
An intuitive navigation feature already immersed in Redwood that helps users find tasks and valuable information through AI suggestions.
Interactions:
Redwood is making interactions smarter and quicker by assisting users in completing processes with minimal mouse movement. Users can locate menu items by prefixing partial names with a “/.”
App Fatigue:
With Redwood, all Oracle applications are now unified, which will decrease app fatigue.
